AFC congratulates President Obama on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Yesterday, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) delivered a letter expressing its thanks to President Obama for signing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law last week. In addition to assisting millions of Americans meet their basic needs, this important legislation includes $650 million dollars for evidence-based clinical and community-based prevention and wellness strategies. AFC urges the Administration to continue its expressed commitment to address HIV and STD infection in the U.S. and dedicate a part of the stimulus spending designated for prevention and wellness to fund HIV, STD, and viral hepatitis prevention activities.
