Media Maven Training on Monday, June 8

By aidsconnect - Posted on 04 June 2009

Attention Chicago Microbicides Advocates! The Chicago Women and Girls HIV Prevention Coalition and the International Partnership for Microbicides invite you to attend their Media Maven Training on Monday, June 8 from 12:00-5:00pm. The afternoon event will provide you with the latest information about Chicago’s very first microbicide trial and equip you with the skills necessary to effectively communicate with media about the trial, microbicides research in general, the importance of continued investment in new HIV prevention technologies and maximizing currently available options, and how this research is relevant to our communities.

Participants with a working knowledge of microbicide research and development and a desire to gain a deeper understanding of the local trial and how to craft messages about the microbicide field as a whole are encouraged to attend.

The training is free, but space is limited. Lunch will be provided. Be sure to reserve your spot by emailing Jessica Terlikowski at jterlikowski@aidschicago.org. The Media Maven Training will take place at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s new office, 200 W. Jackson, Suite 2200.
