Obama spoke. Now it's your turn.

By aidsconnect - Posted on 09 September 2009

President Obama addressed the nation less than an hour ago about the urgent need for health care reform. His impassioned speech provided concrete details on how to retool the country's patchwork health care system that is failing millions of Americans, including hundreds of thousands living with HIV.

That's where you come in. As someone concerned about AIDS, we need you to send a fax right now to tell officials in Washington to stop playing politics and start advancing the agenda for a comprehensive health care reform bill.

No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick.

For that reason, we applaud the President's support for a high-quality, affordable public health insurance plan option, which has the potential to completely alter the HIV landscape by extending comprehensive, affordable coverage and services to millions of low low-income people who currently lack adequate coverage to stay healthy.

The passage of a strong health care reform bill would bolster our community's efforts to reduce premature HIV deaths and new HIV infections and fill coverage gaps for the nearly 500,000 HIV-positive people who lack access to the health care services they need.

You've seen the prime-time speech. Now take prime-time action by sending a fax to Congress.
