Today is World AIDS Day
Each year, World AIDS Day is commemorated around the globe on December 1. Together we celebrate the medical and social progress and bring into focus remaining challenges ahead.
In that spirit, the Coalition for a National AIDS Strategy is calling on the Obama Administration to convene the first-ever White House Summit of HIV-Positive Advocates from across the U.S. to meet with federal officials drafting the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS). Progress has been made, but more work remains to ensure the plan is outcome-oriented, bold, and coordinated across multiple federal agencies. Review the letter that the Coalition sent to the White House today.
Here in Chicago, World AIDS Day events are taking place throughout the city, with hopes to prevent new infections and to promote care for all impacted. Get involved - find a World AIDS Day event near you.
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) will mark World AIDS Day this Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the signature fundraiser, World of Chocolate. Commemorate the day while supporting AFC along with 30 of Chicago's finest chocolate-makers, chefs, and caterers. Treat yourself to a ticket today!

I really wanted to gather a lot of opinions and comments from around the internet about what people are thinking when it comes to AIDS/ HIV today.
Hopefully it will generate some great conversation!
