Child Care Worker
The Children`s Place Association is a safe haven for children and families whose lives have been devastated by disease and poverty. Since 1991, the agency has reached out to HIV/AIDS-affected children and families through services such as 24-hour residential nursing care, specialized day care, summer camp, mental health counseling, and foster care/adoption.
We are seeking Child Care Workers for our 24-hour nursing residence. The Residence is a 10-bed short-term pediatric facility that cares for children who may be medically-complex or disabled in a home-like environment. The children are placed in our care to assist their transition home or to foster care.
The Child Care Worker provides around-the-clock care, supervision, and support to children in the Residence. The Child Care Worker is also responsible for driving children and/or providing transportation to their medical appointments and/or school.
The Child Care Worker assists with medical treatments as established by each child’s Primary Care Physician, the Medical Director, and Nurses. The Child Care Worker also prepares nutritious meals for children and ensures that the facility is safe and maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
The Child Care Worker must be flexible and available to work different shifts to meet the needs of the Residence.
Qualifications:
•Licensed or currently working towards a license as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
•High school diploma.
•Valid driver’s license.
•Must be at least 25 years of age.
•Must meet Medicaid and DCFS standards.
•Experience with medically-complex children preferred.
•Bilingual preferred.
